Hi, I am Cynthia Hill and Real Estate is my business. I have managed my own high-level real estate team, helped in the daily operations of profitable real estate companies and coached agents to consistently high levels of success. But I believe that the most important thing you should know about me is my philosophy about what drives success in real estate. As the Chinese proverb goes, “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.” If you are just looking for a single meal, we're probably not a fit. In recent years, I have seen a disappointing trend become all too common in our industry. Real estate is big business with over a million licensed agents in North America alone. As agents, we represent a large potential customer base and, in my opinion, too many companies are too eager to just sell us something. Many of these companies leverage their high-dollar marketing channels to exploit a key vulnerability that so many agents have...namely, a lack of confidence in their ability to succeed on their own. We are led to believe that if we just use their product or service, magically all of our real estate problems will go away and that everything will run on auto-pilot. Leads will materialize before our very eyes and automatic systems will practically run our businesses for us.

I am here to tell you that in real estate, there is no free ride and no magic pill. As Thomas Edison said, “Too often opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

So how am I different? After all, I am running a company whose products are sold to the real estate industry. Here's the difference. I built BluePrint for myself and for my agents...because we needed it and because nothing else like it existed. And as word of my successes spread, so did the demand for the model.

Think of BluePrint as more of a process than a product. Through my consulting business, I was hired to help improve the productivity of a group of local agents. I worked with these agents the only way I knew how. Together, we built a foundation, beginning with a solid business plan. From past experience, I know that without proper planning, success in real estate is accidental at best.

I identified the “mission-critical” activities that for virtually all agents drive predictable success. Vilfredo Pareto would call these “20% activities”. I taught my agents to embrace accountability and to stay focused on these activities above all others.

Finally, to chart progress and to run their businesses truly like business owners, I helped them to integrate results and financial tracking. Charting our course with a business plan is a useless exercise if we have no idea whether we're even on course at all.

Now, I know what you're thinking...because our agents thought the same thing. “How on earth am I going to be able to do all that (because I secretly hate all that number stuff)”. That's why my agents needed both the product and the process behind BluePrint. Rather than complicating the process, BluePrint actually simplified it. It was conceived to function as an extension of an agent's business rather than as an obstacle to it. It's not so much a tool that you use for your business...rather, it simply becomes how you do business.

I didn't invent business planning, I wasn't the first to use a profit and loss statement, and I certainly didn't invent lead generation. I did however, put all these ingredients into a thoughtful system around which any agent can easily build a thriving business. Make no mistake...BluePrint is no silver bullet. By itself, all it will do is waste your money. Think of BluePrint as your GPS to success. It will absolutely get you where you want to go, but you do have to get in the car and drive. Coupled with discipline and the right habits, BluePrint will produce the lasting results that you deserve and get you where you want to go.
